We are so excited that you’re here to find out more about this awesome ministry! We have an amazing group of children and families here at Wesley United Methodist Church, and there is absolutely a place for you here! Here’s what you can expect when you come through our open doors……
♥ Sunday School: Starting at 9:30 on Sunday mornings, we love spending time with our children and youth! Sometimes we work on musicals that we get to present during worship with the congregation, and other times, we are starting conversations around the sermon of the week to get the kids ready for worship. You may even find us walking around our wonderful neighborhood, sharing information about community events that we have coming up here at Wesley UMC! We wrap up at 10:15 so we can transition into the sanctuary and be ready for the service to start.
♥ Sunday Morning Worship: We have an acoustic contemporary service at 10:30, where we’re ready for your family to be able to worship together in our sanctuary. We even have a special Children’s Time, where we call all the children up for a few minutes to hear a message geared toward their young ears and hearts. As a church, we’ve also made the decision to intentionally include children in our weekly worship experience, so our kiddos stay in the sanctuary for the whole service starting at 1st grade. Don’t worry, though – we have fun sanctuary sacks available with sermon notes sheets and other activities related to the sermon topic! For our younger worshippers, keep reading…
♥ Childcare Available During Sunday Morning Worship: For children ages birth-kindergarten, we have childcare available starting at 10:30. We have two adults in there every Sunday, and your children are welcome to start with us in the sanctuary and enjoy singing along with our Praise Team. Then, we’ll transition them from Children’s Time into Childcare for you. Because it’s important to us for families to be able to talk about the week’s message together, we create lessons that follow along with the sermons that you all are hearing in worship. Be sure to ask your sweet kiddos about what they learn each week when you pick them up! Oh, and don’t forget to say “Hi” to our hairy eyeball bag – this is where we keep the secrets for that Sunday’s lessons until the kids can come see what’s inside!
Fig Tree Ministries is about more than helping children and youth grow in their relationships with God and learn how to be disciples out in the world. It’s also about supporting the whole family and working to create a village in which we can all thrive!
The one who guards a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever protects their master will be honored.
